Ethyl Cellulose

The PSL Rheotek RPV-2 determins the Dynamic Viscosity of Ethyl Cellulose using glass capillary viscometers in accordance with standard methods of test. The Ethyl Cellulose is dissolved in a mixture of Toluene and Ethanol. Flow times are measured at 25 deg. C using calibrated suspended-level Ubbelohde type viscometers - with corresponding sizes for the dynamic viscosity range of samples.

The iSP-1 Sample Preparation system can be used in conjunction with the RPV-2 to prepare samples on a precise weight to weight basis. The mositure content is taken into account by the iSP-1 to ensure that the correct amount of dry matter is weighed for each ethyl cellulose sample. Dissolution is carried out using a shaker.

The RPV- 2 automatically measures flow times, cleans out in-situ and reports Dynamic Viscosity results (mPa.s, cP).
