PSL Rheotek RPV High Temperature Polymer Viscometer
Two positions fully automated dilute solution viscometer suitable for use at 135o C. Modular viscometer system is supplied with temperature controlled bath at 135 deg. C, RPV-HT control module with high temperature valves, two measuring heads with HT tube connectors, solvent containers, PIAB pump (requires compressed air) and PC control system with HT method configuration (including the calculation of all dilute solution viscosity results).
PP/PE testing
Suitable for determining the relative viscosity, reduced viscosity (viscosity number) and intrinsic viscosity of polyethylenes and polypropylenes at 135 deg. C in dilute solution in accordance with ISO 1628 Part 3 or ASTM D1601 - as specified in ASTM D4020 (Ultra High Molecular Weight PE).
Solutions of a sample of Polyethylene or Polyethylene are prepared to 0.0002 g/mL in decahydronaphthalene and solubilised at 150oC in an oven. Each preparation has its flow times measured three times consecutively. The flow time reported is the mean of the three flow times measured.
The difference between the individual flow times and the mean represents the determinability of the test procedure.
